Bereshit

The more things change, the more clichés are used to explain why humanity can't deal with it. Things have changed so much in the last fifteen years. What I marvel at the most is the speed at which the years have passed. My name is Donovan McElroy, and in this blog I have a lot to talk about. I think maybe I should start with my friend Dan.

I met up with Dan recently and we talked about The Black Swan, a bar in Phoenix that I used to work at. The Black Swan was torn down in 2007 so that a grocery store could be built on the lot - still under construction actually.

the post you are now reading is designed to dull your senses to THE TRUTH. do not live the life of the worker bee, the cog, the well-oiled piston in the MACHINE OF DECEIT!

there is a grand CONSPIRACY afoot. you have been taught to believe that you are UNIQUE, one of a kind. THIS IS NOT TRUE. long ago, a cabal of scientists created technologies to ensure that ANYONE'S MIND AND BODY can be duplicated.

human cloning isn't NEAR. it's already HERE. discover the truth at http://JCHutchins.net

you are being DECEIVED. break free from the cogs, flee the hive, become A PROPHET OF THE TRUTH!

Malcolm's Tale

I had the chance to talk to Malcolm one day and really get to know him and his past. I wrote this down from memory. He was an excellent storyteller, and I'm glad I was able to keep this tiny part of him.

For the blood is the life. It’s no surprise then that blood should have such a mystic symbolism. But it should also be noted how important water is. When you realize that water is such a large component of blood, you find that perhaps water is truly the source of life.

Blogging. Podcasting. Keeping a diary... but why?

Why do we do it? I mean, it isn't just for posterity. Some people really get into it, as if the internet has blessed everyone with their 15 minutes. Yet that 15 minutes is just a tease. Like a Scott Sigler podcast-only novel, that first taste is never enough. Then we come back jonesing for the next fix.

Entry for Donovan McElroy - 09/29/1994

Dear Diary,
My God, a year has almost passed by since my last entry. Either I'm getting truly lazy or immortality really does play havoc with a vampire's sense of timing.

I'm writing to update you on, practically, my first year as a vampire.

I still haven't gone back to school. I'm making enough money as a bartender to be comfortable. Anytime that I really needed any funds, Lilith was quick to offer assistance. This only happened once -- I bought a new multimedia Pentium-based computer. As a result, I am typing this entry into version 2.0 of McJournal.

McJournal Entry for 11/08/93

Dear Diary,
I just can't seem to sleep tonight, er ... this morning, as it is about 2 A.M. as I write this. And I doubt that it's just a matter of excitement, though that is part of it. You see, it finally happened tonight. I was killed by a bullet in the chest, but Lilith's blood inside me brought me back as a vampire.

McJournal Entry for 11/07/93

Has a month really almost passed by since my last entry? It seems like only yesterday that I composed that poem. What a glorious tale of life mimicking art I have to tell, then. I've found her, the woman of my dreams!

Her name is Lilith Thompson, and not only is she the love of my life, but she saved my life last night. What's more incredible than that is the reason why ... she's a vampire!

McJournal Entry for 10/06/93

It was a dark and stormy night ... well it had been, for an October night in Phoenix. I thought my car was gonna float away ... with ME in it! I mean, really, 19th Avenue and Grand was a bloody lake! If this weather keeps up, it's gonna be another wet Fair. I can't wait ... The State Fair will be celebrating the 100th anniversary of the Ferris Wheel (about the only ride I'll go on, hehehe). Okay, okay ... let's try the intro again...

Dear Diary,
